Important News on COBRA From The General Chairman
Attached is a copy of an article published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Sunday, April 5, 2009. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the federal government will pay 65% of the COBRA insurance premiums for an employee who loses insurance coverage.
I am advised that each railroad employee will be receiving a letter from United Health Care detailing the program. This could represent a significant savings for our members who are furloughed.
